New data center at the office location: expansion, sustainability and future prospects
We are pleased to announce an important milestone in the further development of our infrastructure: At our technical office location, we have successfully expanded an adjacent outbuilding into a compact, modern data center. This not only creates new capacity for our services, but also allows us to focus on sustainable energy supply and future-proof technology.
Energy efficiency through own solar system
A central goal of the expansion was to cover the energy requirements of our data center as self-sufficiently as possible. With our in-house photovoltaic system, we generate up to 70% of our electricity requirements ourselves in the summer months. This not only reduces our dependence on the power grid, but also actively contributes to climate protection - and enables us to have a stable, predictable energy cost structure.
Network connection and fiber optic expansion
The data center is currently connected with a 100 Mbit/s line, which is sufficient for the initial operating phase. However, the final expansion to 10 Gbit/s is already in full swing: 12 optical fibers are currently being laid directly into the building. The commissioning of this high-performance connection is planned for calendar week 38 of this year.
A further transfer point with an additional 12 fibers is also planned by the middle/end of 2026. This will create the basis for future bandwidths of up to 100 Gbit/s per fiber - depending on the technology used.
Air conditioning and redundant power supply
For cooling, we rely on the tried-and-tested cold/hot aisle principle to ensure efficient and targeted air routing. Each rack is equipped with three separate power feeds - A-feed, B-feed and C-feed. Each feed is in turn protected by an independent UPS (uninterruptible power supply) with 3 kVA power. This guarantees maximum availability, even in the event of partial faults or maintenance work.
Outlook: Future-proof infrastructure & new product lines
With the new data center, we are laying the foundation for a scalable, energy-efficient and highly available IT infrastructure directly at our own site. The combination of redundant power supply, efficient cooling and high-performance fiber optic connection offers ideal conditions for the reliable operation of our services.
As soon as the expansion has been completed, we plan to provide products based on consumer and enterprise hardware again in addition to our existing offerings - in particular in order to be able to offer dedicated server solutions for the gaming sector again in the future.
