Through our internal "volunteer" program, which we offered to a small number of our existing customers in return for symbolic financial compensation, the first customers have already successfully moved to our new location.
The data center is currently still in test operation - with a transitional connection of 100 Mbit/s. This test operation allows us to make final optimizations under real conditions.
Completion of the new fiber optic route is planned by calendar week 38. The gradual migration of all remaining customers - with the exception of our colocation customers - to the new location will then begin from calendar week 40. This migration will of course be coordinated and transparent, without any changes to our customers in terms of price or infrastructure.
What advantages does the new location offer our customers?
With the new data center location, we are not only relying on state-of-the-art technology, but also on clear advantages for our customers:
- Sustainable energy supply: In the summer months, we operate the data center largely with electricity from our in-house photovoltaic system.
- Higher availability: By expanding our infrastructure, we are increasing redundancy and reducing potential downtime risks.
- Shorter distances to technology: As our own data center is located directly at the company site, we have direct access to all systems - maintenance, upgrades and faults can therefore be processed more quickly and efficiently.
- Future-proof connectivity: The new fiber optic connection will provide us with bandwidths in the gigabit range in the future - expandable as required.
